About Sitting Pretty
Tyler Watamanuk is a New York-based writer and producer. Currently, he is a contributing style writer at GQ (formerly at Complex) and writes the design newsletter, Sitting Pretty. (He previously wrote a column of the same name for Garage Magazine.) Sitting Pretty covers a wide range of design-centric topics: Pierre Jeanneret’s Model 92 Scissors chair, the $150,000 sofa owned by Frank Ocean, an overlooked Richard Neutra house in the Los Angeles hillside, musings on the best mid-century daybeds. No topic is too niche.
He is working on a book about streetwear for Simon & Schuster (2023) and contributed text to The Men’s Fashion Book (Phaidon, October 2021). His writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Vice, Playboy, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, 032C, and others.
